The
day I arrived at the North Rim the canyon was full of smoke from a controlled
burn. That night most of it blew out of the canyon. Unfortunately it blew
through the North Rim Campground and the few of us camped there spent the
night coughing and choking. It sure was pretty the next morning though!
If you have the gumption to get up before the sun rises you can witness
some amazing sights.
