Here is an
example of picking out a detail and making a nice photograph of it. This
is part of the Cape Royal scenery. Using a telephoto lens, I captured this
scene with the outstanding light from the setting sun streaming up the canyon
and rim-lighting the formation. The smoke and haze in the canyon enhanced
the color and the effect of distance by making the foreground stand out
from the background. My wife says this looks like a scene from another planet.
