I arrived
at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon in late October 2003. They were doing
a controlled burn on the north rim and the canyon was full of smoke and
haze. Disappointed at first, I quickly realized the potential for unusual
photography that this presented. This beautiful sunset is one of many photographs
I took that day. The smoke and haze only enhance the color and layering
you see. The 'God beams' coming in from the left are a bonus!
