Boulders
fall from the mesa above and when they settle on the softer ground below,
the rain and wind erosion leaves them perched on their own pillar (temporarily).
Makes interesting photos! The strange coloring of this place is also very
interesting. Note the complete lack of any vegetation, not even one weed.
That is because the ground here is very toxic to plant life. It was a natural
occurrence and not caused by man (for a change).
