I love autumn.
Perhaps because it is so fleeting. And everything looks so festive, all
adorned in bright fall colors. A friend of mine once told me she didn't
like autumn. When I asked her why, she said it was because it reminded her
of death. Upon further inquiry I found out that she interpreted the falling
leaves and the dormant period of broad leafed plants as being like death.
I explained that it is no more like death than getting a haircut and lying
down to rest for a while. I hope I changed her mind.
