I came across
these lilies in a meadow in Jasper National Park. I wanted them against
a dark background so I took the photo using a flash as my main source of
light. By holding the flash close to the flowers, the background became
very under exposed. A nice technique for flowers, just be sure that there
is nothing very close in the background or anything that is very bright
and will reflect your flash. If you get a few little things in the background
that you don't want, you can remove them in an image editing program (artistic
license).
