Unlike Cliff
Palace, you can not enter this ruin. But you get a magnificent view of it
from the edge of the cliff above. The round structure in in all these ancient
ruins is called a Kiva. It had a roof with a central hole with a ladder
down into the Kiva. The smoke from the small fire inside also escaped from
this hole. The Kiva was a place for religious ceremony. It is believed that
only men were allowed inside. No women or children. All these ancient Indian
ruins are marvelous - too bad we destroyed 10,000 of them under Lake Powell!
