The Town
Hall housed several shops on the first floor, including a butcher shop,
doctor's office & apothecary, and a granary. The second floor was a
music hall where Fayette's residents gathered for parties, dances, plays,
etc. Music was often provided by the town's brass band, 'The Fayette Cornet
Band'. I assume there were stairs leading up to those two doors.
