This must
have been quite the place to live in during its heyday! It's still very
nice, even in its state of 'preserved deterioration'. There are still furnishings
inside and you can feel the ambiance of the Gold Rush Days. Notice the gingerbread
trim around the front porch. Those two big trees in front would have been
the ideal place for children to play in a little shade. I often wish I had
been born in those days, but then reality sinks in and I recall how hard
and dangerous life was back then (and how primitive medical care was).
