Zion National
Park has the highest sandstone cliffs in the world. The Great White Throne
is an excellent example of the grandeur of those high cliffs. This formation
changes color during the day, from almost white in direct sun to a bluish
color when in shadow (from the reflected blue light of the sky). Note that
there are three distinct colors of rock in this photo, all of them subject
to change as lighting conditions change during the day. What a magnificent
park!
