A few years
ago, a 70 foot chunk fell from this already delicate arch. A photographer
just happened to be there and captured the event. Talk about being in the
right place at the right time. The wrong place would have been under the
arch! This is a very large arch, there is room for a football field under
it. Yet it is very thin. The park rangers expect it will only be a short
time before it collapses (geologically speaking).
