It was stormy,
the sun had set and there was lightning off to the left. I stood there with
my metal tripod hoping something nice would happen before I got fried! Just
about the time I thought that I should give up, a little color came peeking
up from the horizon and added just enough color to the sky to make this
interesting photo. I was the only idiot that stuck around long enough to
get the photo. (I was, however, keeping a close eye on the lightning.) Note
how the warm colors of the sky make the red rocks even more red. This effect
was enhanced by a nice red glow on the horizon behind me. By the way, there
is no fresh smell on earth that matches that of the high desert country
during a thunder storm.
