It's
always nice to be at the right place at the right time. I saw this coming,
I could see the light from the arch creeping across the desert floor. All
I had to do was set up my camera in a spot that would intercept it and then
wait for the right moment. It took about 10 minutes for the light to reach
my tripod legs, then I just watched it go up the legs to my camera. Since
the sun was low and partly obscured by Turret Arch and the clouds, I could
take a few quick glimpses through the viewfinder to determine the right moment.
Never look at a full bright sun through a camera viewfinder! You could permanently
burn your retina.
