The
evening was cloudy and I thought that if I got lucky, the setting sun would
light up the clouds in glorious colors and make these already red rocks even
more red. So I waited, and waited, and waited! It started getting dark and
I was about to give up when suddenly the whole scene just lit up in this magnificent
red and a few reddish streaks appeared in the sky. I quickly took a few exposures
and then noticed it was starting to fade. When I turned around to see what
giving this beautiful light, I almost fell over! To see what had this effect
on me see 'Sunset - Mother
and Child'. I barely had time to set up and get a couple of additional
exposures of that scene before it faded out. The moral of this story is "look
around while you are waiting for something to happen because something else
may be happening"!
