I had never
seen wild turkeys before and found them quite amusing. They don't sound
like the domesticated turkeys we are familiar with. They make a soft clucking
sound as they go about their business of finding seeds to eat. They are
also quite a bit smaller, but there is no mistaking them for anything but
turkeys. I was riding my bike along the main road when I came across these
foraging off to the side. Zion has a wonderful system of trams that you
can use to explore the main canyon. In fact during the busy summer you have
to use them (cars are not allowed on the main road). They have bike racks
so you can take the tram up to the end of the road and ride your bike back
(mostly downhill). How great is that!
