This is a
view of a plateau that you cross on the trail to the West Rim. At this point
you have climbed above the red colored sandstone formations, such as Angels
Landing, and still have a pretty good ways to go to get to the West Rim
(off to the left, through the pine tree branches). There is no water along
this trail until you reach Potato Hollow on the West Rim. Also the trail
is carved out of the cliff face up to the West Rim, not for the faint of
heart! Of course, if you got this far you already experienced some of that
on the Angels Landing trail. The scenery is magnificent every step of the
way from the valley floor to the West Rim.
