This beautifully
preserved lighthouse is a prime example of these important navigation aids
of times past. I am glad lighthouses are such diversified objects of beauty,
otherwise they would have all been destroyed or left to decay as we changed
to more sophisticated and precise navigation systems. One could make a career
of photographing only these masterpieces of marine architecture. This is
part of my 'Vanishing Americana' series.
