This is a
very nice view from the Artist Point Trail. The small pond at the base of
the snowfield reflects a rippled impression of the glaciers on Mt. Shuksan.
The trail is visible on the other side of the pond. Mt. Shucksan is said
to be 'the most photographed mountain in the world'. It lies inside the
borders of North Cascade National Park (just barely). It's extreme ruggedness
and magnificent hanging glaciers make it a fantastic photographic subject.
It is also very accessible for anyone to see. Climbing it is another story!
