I love it
when I happen across a beautiful wild flower and I can photograph it against
a dark background. Doesn't happen that often, at least not to me, and you
almost always get a great shot of something beautiful when it does. Lighting
for this kind of photo is tricky. Your camera light meter will want to overexpose
this type of situation, so stop down to keep the colors rich and the background
dark. If you don't know how much to under expose, bracket your shot in half
stop increments.
