These
mushrooms grow right out of the trunk of living trees. They look like little
parasols. The moss also seems to be enjoying its host tree. Some mushrooms
that grow on living trees are benign but others end up killing the tree.
I don't know what kind these are. Regardless, they are part of natures cycle
of life, and they are interesting to look at.
