Sperry
Peak is a very alpine mountain. It reminds me of the Matterhorn in Switzerland.
Both are classic glacially carved pyramid shaped peaks. Though not as large
as the Matterhorn, it is never the less still pretty imposing. People have
a tendency to think that the peaks of the North Cascades are not as large
as other mountains. They are wrong because they forget that the base of
most of the peaks are at an elevation of 1,000 - 1,500 feet. That makes
a peak with an elevation of 6 to 7 thousand feet a very large mountain!
They are also among the steepest mountains in the U.S. A mountaineers paradise.
