Deception
Pass is very unique in the fact that George Vancouver believed that the
water rushing through the pass was actually a large very swift river. When
he discovered that it is actually a result of tides and the large volume
of water that must surge through the pass he gave it it's name for being
so 'deceptive'. Now its part of a very scenic state park, along with Rosario
Beach. I like to visit this area, and it's close to where I live. I occasionally
go camping here.
