This is certainly
Washington's most famous landmark. And for good reason. Mt. Ranier is beautiful,
very large (over 14,000 feet high) and is a dormant volcano to boot! It
still has active steam vents near the summit. Will it ever erupt again.
Almost certainly! It's just resting. But it is magnificent to see, and you
can see it from a great many places in the state since it is so large. There
is a trail that goes all the way around Mt. Rainier. It's 90 miles long.
Not only is Mt. Rainier high, it's just plain massive.
