Yellowstone,
the fist National Park in the world. It is the singular most spectacular
display of natural thermal features in the world. But there is much
more to Yellowstone than geysers and boiling mud. There is lots of wildlife,
beautiful mountains and canyons, and lots of room to get away from it
all. Yellowstone National Park is very large (thankfully) and encompasses
spectacular as well as tranquil environments. The thermal features are
remnants from, perhaps, the largest volcanic event in the worlds history.
The caldera of this volcano is so large that it can only be seen from
space. We did not even know of its existence until the advent of satellites.
Scientist have speculated that this eruption wiped out all but 5 t0
10 thousand of the entire human population of earth. If so, we are all
descendants of those few remaining humans!
